Strandhill People’s Market

Web MARKET Poster

Something pretty exciting is starting in my local village of Strandhill, Co. Sligo. Sligo Locals, Allan and Kieran Mulrooney are opening up an incredible food and craft market on the beach front in Strandhill on Sunday 4th of May, and every Sunday thereafter, from 11am-5pm.

Strandhill is no doubt one of the gems of Sligo town and the beachfront will serve as the perfect location for local produce, crafts and entertainment. They have just announced that there will be a buskers corner for local musicians to showcase their music and entertain the crowds every Sunday.

The market hopes to attract a wide variety of local and artisan crafts, gourmet foods, seasonal and local fresh fruit & vegetables and fish and meat. With the aim of the market to create a family friendly environment by the ocean, there will be something for everybody.

If you wish to sign up for the first event on the 4th of May please email  and provide details about your merchandise.

Chalk it down and come and support your local food and craft producers. I will be there with my vegan salads and numerous other goodies, along with Gary Reddin Ink, Atlantic Equipment, Salt of the Earth and many more!

Hi Carol Anne! It was a fantastic, brilliant market – I agree. I was so busy today, meeting so many great people (shoppers and fellow vendors as well) that I didn’t have much time for a break to chat with all the traders there…but that’s a great ‘complaint’ to have – especially on the launch and opening day of this brilliant new market. Great atmosphere, great buzz, great music, great craic (as always is the case in Strandhill), great for the family (and the dogs too!) and even the weather behaved itself today.

I join you in letting everyone know how brilliant this market is, and a call to everyone to support local crafters and food producers who are there at this market, as well as all craft and food markets.

We will definitely be there every Sunday, and hopefully we’ll get a chance to meet and chat next time.
