“On my return to Co.Sligo at the start of this year I decide to combine my love of food with my passion for photography. So far it has been an exciting, enjoyable and tasty experience. I find working with chefs, bakers and fellow foodies a lot of fun.
When it comes to photo shoots I believe each shot should be styled unique to the food being captured and for this to be done in a simple direct approach with high impact visuals capturing the natural beauty of food.” – Andrea Lucy Flanagan, Artist and Food Photographer.
Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve noticed a bit of a flutter of gorgeous food photography hitting my timeline. Andrea Lucy Food Photography burst onto the scene with her gorgeous images of local food from the likes of Good4U, Erin Fox and Shells Seaside Cafe, not to mention her own creations. Pretty swoon-worthy stuff and so I was delighted when she asked me to collaborate with her. I always knew that Andrea was a seriously talented artist, so I was pretty happy to see that she is now dipping her toes in the art of food photography.
As much as I love taking photos for my blog, it was just so nice to make up a few dishes and hand them over to her to take care of. She has just started her food photography business and already you can tell this girl has so much talent. I cannot wait to see the images she took.
Andrea let me sneak in and take a few snaps whilst she was working. She was so much fun to work with and really it didn’t feel like work at all! We’ve already scheduled in another session. After the shoot, we sat down and munched through all of the food I made and we chatted about coming back home to Sligo for summer and what it meant to both of us being home. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to be back in my hometown and to be able to work with such talented people makes it all the more worth while!
I think this was one of my favourite set ups!
